Oregon Health Authority and Center for Human Development continue working to identify and isolate individuals who may have been in close contact with the COVID-19 confirmed case announced yesterday. If you are identified as someone that was a contact and may be at risk for COVID-19 you will be notified. Union County has a total of four confirmed cases. The most recent case was community acquired, meaning that the individual does not have a direct epidemiological link to a known confirmed case and was acquired from an unknown source and location in the community.
There are no new cases to report today in Wallowa County. One of the two Wallowa County cases was listed as a resident but was not currently located within Wallowa County. Oregon Health Authority has recently identified this case as a Washington State resident and have reduced the Wallowa County case total and the statewide case count by one. Statewide confirmed cases have increased to 1,371.
The Oregon Department of Human Services (DHS) announced today that the Oregon Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) will provide additional benefits for the months of April and May to eligible SNAP households. Participant households of SNAP will automatically receive the additional allotment in the same way they receive their current benefits. For most customers this is an EBT card. This is a temporary supplement to assist SNAP recipients during the current health crisis. DHS will not be sending individual notices to households about the emergency allotments. If you have questions or are needing to apply for benefits, contact Oregon DHS. https://www.oregon.gov/DHS/COVID-19/Pages/Home.aspx.
