There are currently 3,286 confirmed and presumptive COVID-19 cases reported in Oregon of which 218 are new cases reported since Friday, May 8. No new cases have been reported in Union or Wallowa County over the weekend. Umatilla County reported five new cases over the weekend and its second COVID-19 death. The total number of confirmed and presumptive cases in Umatilla County is 85.

The City of La Grande announced the cancelation of the following programs based on guidance received from the Governor’s Office:
• Kick it Into Gear
• Grande Tour Annual Bike Ride
• Moonlight Tournament
• Movies in the Park
• Adult Co-Ed Softball
• Riverside Concerts
• Morgan Lake Regatta
• End of Summer Party
• Bard in the Blues Renaissance Festival

Guidance has not yet been received from the Governor regarding summer camps, youth programs, and summer sports such as Little League and youth soccer.

Oregon State Parks has begun opening some parks to limited daytime use. The park system will be closed to overnight camping through at least May 25. Park status and availability can be found at https://oregonstateparks.org/index.cfm?do=v.dsp_parkstatus. It is recommended to check the link regularly as new park openings are occurring daily.

There was no new news today on approval of the Counties reopening plans. Union County’s plan has passed the Governor’s Office review and has now been sent on to Oregon Health Authority for evaluation. Today the Governor announced that additional guidance will be released later this week for Phase 1 reopening by sector.
