There are no new confirmed cases to report in Union County. The total number of confirmed cases remains at four. There are 82 negative test results for Union County. Wallowa County has a total of one confirmed case and 21 negative test results. Over the weekend, the number of deaths in the state reached a total of 53. The total confirmed cases in Oregon is 1,584 with almost 30,000 negative tests.
Physical distancing remains the key to protecting yourself and your family against COVID-19. The City of La Grande Parks and Recreation Department has closed the skate park and removed the basketball hoops at Pioneer Park. All playgrounds and restrooms at city parks have been closed. These closures are temporary and have been put in place to assist with physical distancing requirements. The dog park and Greenway at Riverside Park remain open.
The Union County Incident Management Team is working with partnering agencies to bring a live-streamed public meeting for the community. The public meeting will be held Wednesday, April 15, at 6:00 p.m. The purpose of the meeting is to inform citizens on the local COVID-19 response.
